We’ve mentioned here that Mary and I both love juice! And we’re not talking about juice that you buy in the store (do you know how much SUGAR they add to those??) but rather the process of extracting the juice from vegetables and fruit! Creating juice recipes doesn’t have to be rocket science and truthfully, I usually make the same juice recipe as my default. Here’s my favorite combination (pictured above!):
- Half of a grapefruit (peel removed)
- Half of a cucumber
- 4 large carrots
- 1 hunk of ginger (size depends on how ginger-y you want your juice!)
Juice all three into a glass. Stir. Drink. Or experiment with whatever produce you have in your fridge! After I juice my veggies and fruits, I take a sip and try to figure out what’s missing. Maybe it’s too bitter, tart or bland. Adding things like lemon, ginger, garlic, parsley or cilantro can add some fun twists.
While I was researching some other juice recipes, I came across some really fun ones (that supposedly have benefits beyond just being healthy). I’m not a scientist but I do know that it won’t hurt to try. Enjoy:
