Here at Considering You we love promoting nutrient dense foods, moving our bodies, and debunking myths. We are more than that though. Today we wanted to share 10 (additional) ways to consider yourself. We love promoting the idea of being a “whole” person.

Lose Yourself in a Book

I think Allie and I would both agree, there is nothing better than getting lost in a good book, and getting lost in a series is even better! The gift that keeps on going. Take some time and hit up Barnes and Noble or grab that new book on your Kindle and prioritize time in your calendar to simply read. I don’t know the last time I actually did that, and I love reading. If you do not want to buy a new book then pull out some of your favorites. The story usually gets better the second time. Finally, how about joining a book club? That has been on my personal to do list for a long time.

Take a Blissful Bath

If you really want to consider yourself then pamper yourself. Taking a bath is so relaxing and you could even take your book (from above) in the tub with you. How about an amazing magnesium bath? Your muscles and mind will love it. You could also try herbal baths. Some ideas include: lavender, rose petals, orange peels, peppermint, green tea. Get creative and make this time, YOUR TIME.

Find your Creativity

Do you blog? Do you love shooting photos? Do you write? Do you paint or draw? Have you ever wanted to write a book? What is it that brings your heart to life? Find how you can express your heart and share it with others. You will grow so much in the process.

Get a Massage

I recommend splurging at least once in your life to get a massage from a professional, I mean there is nothing else like it. I literally drooled in my first one. If you cannot splurge right now then maybe you can convince your significant other or best friend to give you a massage.

Connect with a Friend

We all know this is true, getting with our favorite people does wonders for our hearts and spirits. Plan a night or day to catch up with a friend. Go to a movie, go out to eat, grab some coffee, go shopping, go exploring…and do not forget to laugh and have a great time! Friends are one of life’s biggest blessings.

Explore a New City

Raise your hand if you love exploring a new place as much as we do?! It is wonderful to get out of your usual element and see what other places have to offer. I know that I personally get a huge thrill from this. You can also become a tourist in your own city. There is always something else you can do. I totally learned this growing up in a small town.

Climb into Bed

Sleep is one of the best things you can do for your health. If you are not prioritizing sleep the reality is that your body is under some serious stress. So go catch some zzzs. No for real, do it. You will think better, perform better, feel better, and will look better.

Enjoy your Favorite Music

Blast your favorite tunes and sing your heart out. Who cares if your voice is not like Mariah’s? Music is uplifting and speaks what hearts usually can’t. Turn the itunes on while cooking, crank up the ipod on your walk outside or in the bath, invite your friends over and have a dance party, or just be the crazy looking person singing at the red-light. Oh, and who could forget a good concert. I really want to see Coldplay in concert and I’m uber jealous that Allie already has.

Book that Vacation

It is time folks. Either go or start saving to go. Life is short and taking time “off” to enjoy all the amazing-ness of this life is SO important. Here are some tips to take with you on your trip.

Embrace Nature

It’s the perfect time of the year to get out of the house and explore nature. Get to the ocean, walk in the sand, and dip your toes in the water. Get to the mountains and hike or go camping. Make a habit to get to a local park and just enjoy being outside. Get some Vitamin D while you are out and learn to appreciate all the beauty around you!
