Getting this area of our lives under control is way more important than any kick busting workout routine or the newest superfood. Stress that becomes chronic simply causes the body to undergo harmful changes that keep us sick. So we gotta do something about it. NOW.

Causes of Stress:

There are many, but here are some to point out and evaluate the presence in your life:

  1. Poor diet (processed, high sugar, nutrient poor)
  2. Eating foods that your body does not tolerate (common culprits are gluten, dairy)
  3. Overtraining or too little exercise
  4. Relationship issues
  5. Loss of employment
  6. Drugs (prescription and non-prescription)
  7. Alcohol and smoking
  8. Caffeine
  9. Fear and grieving from death
  10. Infections
  11. Poor sleep habits
  12. Financial burdens
  13. Lack of fun and relaxation

The main reasons we want to avoid it are listed below.

A body under stress looks like this:

  • increased blood pressure
  • increased blood sugar (putting you at risk for diabetes)
  • increased heart rate and breathing
  • headaches, migraines, and muscle tension

  • acne and other skin problems
  • trouble sleeping
  • increased risk of reduced bone density
